Welcome to the Harry Potter Read Along sign-up post. This reading event will take place from September 1st to December 15th, 2012. The reason I am hosting this event is because I am taking a Harry Potter class this fall semester and thought it would be fun to get some other people involved.

I know the traditional way of doing a Harry Potter reading event would be to read books 1-7 and call it good, but I’m going to open the floor to any Harry Potter related book, whether that be a Potter-based J.K. Rowling book or a book by someone else relating to Harry Potter or J.K. Rowling. A few examples of this are:
The Tales of Beedle the Bard
Harry Potter and Philosophy
Harry Potter’s Bookshelf
Unlocking Harry Potter
Harry, A History

The idea is that you read, get wrapped up in Potter, and post reviews of the books as you go along. You can also write about your Harry Potter experiences (a Potter-based trip to England or the Universal Studios park in Orlando), why you love Harry Potter, favorite or least favorite characters, etc. Each post you write will give you a chance to win prizes at the end of the read along. I personally will read and review all seven of the Harry Potter books, and perhaps a couple of the books mentioned above if I have time, but feel free to make this event your own.

I will host a giveaway in December, but if you would like to host a giveaway on your blog and/or write a guest post to be featured on my blog, please CLICK HERE.

If you want to sign-up for Harry Potter Read Along, simply leave a comment below. Make sure your name and blog URL are included so that I can add you to the list of participants. Feel free to include which books you’ll be reading and reviewing.

Since I am late on opening this post, you can sign up through September 15th. If you sign-up after this date, you can still participate, but may not be eligible for any early giveaway prizes.

Please also post the button somewhere on your blog (announcement post or on your blog’s side-bar) so that we can spread the word. I want this to be a fun reading event, and the more the merrier!

Feel free to contact me with any questions. This is my first time hosting a reading event, so I’d like to know if anything is unclear.
